About the Group
Home Based Businesses (HBB) represent a significant portion of the businesses operating in West Linn. In March of 2007, there were 589 licenses issued to home based businesses out of a total of 1233 business licenses - representing 48% of the total.
Of the Chamber’s 300 members, 82 (28%) are home based businesses (August 2007).
The West Linn Chamber, in recognition of the significance and importance of home based businesses in our community, established a Special Interest Group (SIG) in May, 2007 to better support this segment of the business population.
MIssion and Initiatives
The mission of the HBB SIG is to facilitate interactive forums (both in person & through Internet communities) that will engage home based business owners (and ultimately WLCC members) with each other and meaningful resources to support the success of their businesses.
The HBB SIG has created an online community using a special web site called a Wiki as a way to meet, educate, and collaborate online. The versatility and opportunities created by the online community are almost endless, from seeking answers to common HBB questions, finding online resources and surveying other members. You can visit the online community at http://westlinnhbb.pbwiki.com.
