Kristy Schnabel, It's Virtually Done, LLC
January’s HBB meeting was very informative – and might even have given a person or two some ideas for starting their own business!
Kristy Schnabel from It’s Virtually Done, LLC spoke to our group about being a Virtual Assistant (VA). What an amazing concept! Virtual Assistants have been among us for quite some time… What, exactly, is a virtual assistant you ask? A VA is someone who works with you from a remote office – usually their own home office. “A VA is a home-based professional who uses technology to remotely support clients administratively”
What Services Can VAs Do?
- Customer service
- Web page creation/maintenance
- Bookkeeping
- Calendar management
- Event planning
- Newsletters/ezines
- Marketing
- Project management
- Writing/editing
- Research/reporting
- Travel arrangements
- Business planning
- Shopping cart management
- Contact/data base management
- And so much more!
With a Virtual assistant, there is no downtime. You pay only for the actual work done – whether it’s 2 hours a week or 20. Since you work from home, you don’t have to find additional work space for an ‘assistant’, a VA works from her own home as well. There is no payroll or benefits to worry about; and you get to work with a highly trained professional. Best of all, you are building an on-going business relationship with someone who will help you be accountable for your business goals. VAs are surprisingly affordable and have many payment options.
For more information on Virtual Assistants, visit Kristy’s website at www.itsvirtuallydone.com. Please note that Kristy is not available at the moment. Her client list is full. She does, however, have colleagues she’s worked with who are looking for work. If you would like to talk to a VA about possible work, please email Megan Bowes for contact information.
Other avenues for finding a VA include:
Keep in mind, you’ll want to interview a potential VA. Be prepared to set up an initial phone call and prepare a list of questions. Make sure the VA wants to do what you need – some are specialize while others have a wide range of skills. Schedule a 2nd phone interview after you’ve each had time to review the initial call and think about how the call went. And, don’t forget to check their references. |
